How to List Your Product as a Grok Bot Connector

The Grok Bot marketplace now takes connector submissions. What to build, how to submit, and how bot templates turn a connector into signups.

By agentools

  • FastMCP: building a thin MCP server in Python quickly.
  • Smithery: hosting and listing the server beyond one marketplace.
  • Stripe MCP: a reference for scoping what agents may do.

The Grok Bot marketplace is open for submissions. You can send a plugin or MCP server through the submission form. Approved connectors are listed for Grok Bot and Cursor users, and Grok is listed as coming soon (announcement by @shubgaur).

@coreyganim laid out a playbook for using this as a lead magnet. Ship a small connector, then publish bot templates that need it. Here is that approach with tools from the directory.

The 3 picks

1. FastMCP

Python framework for building MCP servers

You don't need to expose your whole product. Pick 1 to 3 actions a bot would actually call, like pulling a report or creating an invoice, and wrap them as MCP tools. FastMCP handles the protocol, so most of the work is your own API calls.

Pricing: Open sourceFramework

2. Smithery

Registry and gateway for MCP servers

Once the server works, make it reachable as a remote MCP server with sign-in. Remote hosting is also what lets a hosted bot connect to it. Registries like Smithery help other agents and clients find the server, not only Grok Bot users.

Pricing: Free tierMCP registry + CLI

3. Stripe MCP

Payments, customers and invoices for agents

Stripe's server is a good model to copy. It uses restricted keys to decide exactly what an agent may touch. Do the same in your connector. Start read-only and add write actions on purpose.

Pricing: FreeHosted MCP server

More to consider

Submitting

Submit through the marketplace form. It asks for an organization handle, a website, a 1:1 SVG or PNG logo with a background plate, and where you want to be listed.

Templates are the distribution

A connector alone waits to be found. A bot template gives people a reason to connect it. Corey's example is a budgeting app that publishes a template that scans bank transactions for forgotten subscriptions and drafts the cancellation emails. Everyone who adds the template connects the app. That means they create an account with you, usually on a free tier, and upgrade when they hit limits.

Publish several single-job templates, and each one is another way people find you.

Describe outcomes, not features

Write the connector description like a job post. "Scores your sales calls and tells you what to fix" says more than "AI-powered sales intelligence."

Wrapping up

Build small, scope permissions tightly, submit, then publish templates. For more frameworks and registries, see Build and ship MCP servers. Browse Grok Bot ideas for template inspiration.
