Pixel Path

Turn any two places into a pixel-art fly-through of the real road

About

Ask Claude for "a pixel path from Bath to Bristol" and it routes the trip, bakes the real buildings, land cover, landmarks, hills and horizon from OpenStreetMap and elevation data, generates regional scenery art with RetroDiffusion, checks its own work with screenshots, and hands you a static index.html where you scroll to fly down the road. Great for game levels, trip recaps, video intros and stream backgrounds.

Access

High

What this skill's own files let it touch on your machine and accounts. Access isn't a verdict: check the publisher and the security audits too.

  • Bundles scripts
  • Runs shell commands
  • Writes files in your project
  • Uses the network
  • Asks for credentials

Bundles Node scripts for routing, map baking and a pseudo-3D renderer. Network calls go to Nominatim, OSRM, Overpass, AWS Terrain Tiles, Wikidata and, for art, RetroDiffusion. Paid art costs about $0.18 per picture and the skill prints an estimate and asks you to choose a detail level before spending; placeholder mode is free. The API key is read from your environment or macOS Keychain and never asked for in chat. The README's RetroDiffusion link is an affiliate link.
