About

Open-source agent harness and coding agent CLI with a unified multi-provider LLM API

Pi is the coding agent CLI behind a monorepo of agent building blocks: a unified LLM API for OpenAI, Anthropic, Google and others (pi-ai), an agent runtime with tool calling and state (pi-agent-core), a durable conversation and task runtime, and a terminal UI library. It deliberately skips features like sub-agents and plan mode; the idea is that you ask Pi to build what you need or install a package that does it your way. You sign in with a subscription or API key using /login inside Pi. It has no built-in permission system and runs with your user's permissions, so the docs recommend containers or sandboxes when you need tighter boundaries. The README points to OpenClaw as a real-world integration built on it. The repo has about 116k GitHub stars and is updated daily. Repo: https://github.com/earendil-works/pi.
