Your agent watches the news for stories you have the standing to jump on, works out your positioning (/pr-strategist), turns one fact into journalist-shaped angles without inventing anything, builds a small fit-checked media list, picks the right reporter at each outlet, roasts your pitch (/meanest-editor), answers HARO style source requests only when you are a real fit, fact-checks claims, learns your writing voice and makes press clip PDFs. Also covers crisis holding statements and AI visibility (AEO/GEO) prompt panels. You still review and send every pitch yourself. The one line installer pipes a shell script from newsjack.sh into bash, installs the newsjack CLI under ~/.newsjack and auto-updates from the latest GitHub Release before each run (set NEWSJACK_AUTO_UPDATE=0 to stop that). Most skills are instructions only and work with no account. Live news search, the PR calendar and journalist enrichment use the Medialyst API after newsjack login (free account; media list research spends credits and asks for approval first); X trend monitoring needs your own X bearer token and Slack delivery is optional. Monitoring state lives in a local SQLite file. The skills never send pitches on their own, and the repo ships an ETHICS.md that discourages spam and fabricated quotes. MIT licensed, about 1.6k stars, actively maintained.
