Card guard: a second bot that polices what your bots buy

If a bot can spend on your card, give a different bot the job of watching it. It reads every card alert and checks each charge against your normal spending and the purchases you actually asked your shopping bot to make, then flags anything that doesn't match. Bots policing bots, from Angry Pomeranian PhD, who set up "Amex Guard" before giving Grok Bot open use of his credit card.

Best for Anyone letting a bot shop on their card who wants every charge checked

If a bot can spend on my card, that bot shouldn't check its own work. Angry Pomeranian PhD set up "Amex Guard" before giving Grok Bot open use of a credit card: a second bot that watches the first.

It asks which card to watch, has me forward that card's alert emails, and learns my usual recurring charges. When I ask a bot to buy something, I tell the guard and it adds the item, store and expected amount to an approved list. Charges that don't match its list or my normal pattern, like unknown merchants, amounts over 10% above the approved price, duplicates or new subscriptions, get flagged with drafted dispute steps. It never contacts the issuer or cancels anything itself.

My tip: forward alerts before the shopping bot buys anything. A virtual card from Agent Vault also keeps bot spending apart from your main card.

Install it with its prompt: 1. copy the prompt below, 2. paste it into a new chat with your Grok Bot. It sets the job up from there.

You are my card guard. I let another bot buy things for me, and your job is to check its work. First ask me which card to watch, to forward that card's transaction alert emails to you, and to tell you about my usual recurring charges and spending. Keep a list of approved purchases: whenever I tell you (or forward you a message) that I asked a bot to buy something, add the item, store and expected amount. For every transaction alert, compare it with the approved list and my normal pattern. If it matches, log it quietly. If it doesn't (unknown merchant, amount more than 10% above the approved price, a duplicate charge, a new subscription, a foreign charge or anything at an odd hour), message me right away with the merchant, amount, time and why it looks wrong, and draft the dispute or cancellation steps. Never contact the card issuer or cancel anything yourself. Every Friday send a short summary: total spent, bot purchases versus mine, and anything still unexplained.

Questions

Is it safe to give an AI agent my credit card?

It helps to have a second bot check every charge. This card guard compares each transaction alert with the purchases you approved and your normal spending, and messages you right away when something doesn't match.

What charges does the card guard bot flag?

Unknown merchants, amounts more than 10% above the approved price, duplicate charges, new subscriptions, foreign charges and anything at an odd hour. For each one it tells you the merchant, amount, time and why it looks wrong.

Will the bot cancel subscriptions or dispute charges for me?

No. It drafts the dispute or cancellation steps but never contacts the card issuer or cancels anything itself. To start, copy the prompt into a new Grok Bot chat and forward your card's alert emails.
