Engram

Local persistent memory for any coding agent, in one binary

Engram preview

About

Agent-agnostic memory so you stop re-explaining your project

Engram gives coding agents a memory that outlives the session. It runs locally as one Go binary with a SQLite + FTS5 database in ~/.engram, so there is no Node, Python or Docker to manage, and `engram setup <agent>` writes the MCP and integration config for 14 targets including Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, OpenCode, Gemini CLI, Windsurf, Kiro and VS Code Copilot. Reads are project-aware (it detects the current repo), memory can be shared across machines with Git Sync, and an optional Engram Cloud adds project-scoped replication with a browser view. Built by Gentleman Programming (Alan Buscaglia), with about 7.4k GitHub stars. Repo: https://github.com/Gentleman-Programming/engram.

  • MCP server, CLI, HTTP API and TUI
