About

Codebase map and MCP server for Claude Code

The MCP tools are usages (callers and uses, including type-inferred ones a text search misses, plus a completeness check), feature_map (where a feature lives), outline, architecture and dependency_cycles. All of them are read-only. In the project's own benchmark of 20 questions across 6 codebases, the typical question used 51% fewer tokens with Vesalius attached, with no measurable change in answer quality overall, though feature-location answers scored about 2 points lower. Swift gets a full syntax tree, TypeScript, JavaScript and Python are parsed with tree-sitter, and a dozen other languages are read lexically. Indexing stays local: no network requests, no accounts, no telemetry, and nothing is written to your repository. It needs a Mac with Apple silicon on macOS 15 or later. Install it with Homebrew and run vesalius setup, which registers it with Claude Code for every project. It is released under the MIT License by Haplo, LLC.
