About

Concat is an AGPL-3.0 project by jub0t with over 12,000 stars on GitHub. It runs on macOS, Windows, Linux and Android, with a Rust engine and local Whisper for captions. Still in beta.

## What it does Concat is a full video editor that runs on your own machine: timeline editing, auto captions with local Whisper, text to speech and voice cloning, background removal, keyframes, effects and 4K export. Nothing goes to a server. The part I care about here: run it as `concat --mcp` and your agent gets the same edit commands the window uses. It can import media, cut, caption, keyframe, check frames and export a finished video. There is also a JSON-RPC API. ## Install Download the app from concat.standalones.org, then add it to Claude Code: `claude mcp add concat -- /Applications/Concat.app/Contents/MacOS/concat --mcp` On Windows and Linux point your MCP client at the installed binary with the `--mcp` argument.
