MCP Atlassian

Jira and Confluence MCP server for Cloud and Data Center

MCP Atlassian preview

About

MCP Atlassian is a community MCP server by Hyeonsoo Lee (sooperset) with over 6,000 GitHub stars. It connects Claude, Cursor, Copilot and other MCP clients to Jira and Confluence, so an agent can triage tickets, write sprint notes or pull docs into context without leaving the chat.

## What it does MCP Atlassian exposes Jira and Confluence as MCP tools: search with JQL or CQL, read and edit issues, transition tickets, add comments and worklogs, manage sprints and boards, and create or update Confluence pages. It works with Atlassian Cloud and with Server or Data Center installs. ## Setup Run it with `uvx mcp-atlassian` or Docker, then pass your Jira and Confluence URLs plus credentials. It supports API tokens, personal access tokens and OAuth 2.0, and can run over stdio, SSE or streamable HTTP for shared setups. ## Good to know You can limit it to read only mode or filter which tools and Confluence spaces are enabled, which is a smart default before letting an agent write to production projects.
