About

Let agents work in your notes without handing them the keys

Start with npx obsidian-tc /path/to/vault and every note tool plus text search works right away (Node 24+ or Bun). Add it to Claude Code with claude mcp add obsidian-tc -- npx -y obsidian-tc /path/to/vault, and it also works in Cursor and VS Code. For several vaults, auth or folder rules, install it globally and pass a config file. It also ships as a Docker image, a .mcpb bundle and standalone binaries, with an HTTP mode that supports OAuth. An optional companion Obsidian plugin, TC Bridge, unlocks Templater, Dataview, Tasks and Excalidraw. Things to know: the zero config mode has auth off and is meant for local use, it's a heavier setup than simple read only servers, it's AGPL-3.0 and it has a single maintainer.

Features

  • Folder level permissions and a read only kill switch
  • Human confirmation before overwrites and deletes
  • Audit log of every tool call
  • Full text, vector and graph search across notes
  • Agent memory stored inside the vault
  • Multi vault, with local or HTTP transport and OAuth
